John Howell
John is a Chartered Accountant who has spent most of his career in public practice since graduating from the University of Canberra in 1990. In 2013, John was awarded a Fellow of the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.
John specialises in SME business and taxation advisory, accounting system integration and internet communications. He has acted for many clients in the sale of their businesses and has assisted in formulating numerous succession plans.
John also acts as resident director for a number of Australian subsidiaries of overseas listed companies.
Riccardo Raso
Riccardo is a Chartered Accountant who has worked in public practice since 1989. He graduated from The University of Technology Sydney (UTS) with a Bachelor of Business in 1993 and completed a Masters in Taxation Law at UTS in 1996. Riccardo was admitted as an Associate of the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand in Australia in 1996 and was awarded a Fellow in 2013. Riccardo qualified as an SMSF Specialist Advisor in 2013.
As well as providing extensive tax knowledge, Riccardo assists clients to structure their business affairs so as to minimise tax, protect their financial interests and provide maximum flexibility toward creating and protecting their wealth. He has a particular interest in investment properties and SMSFs.
Riccardo also acts as resident director, secretary and public officer for a number of Australian subsidiaries of overseas companies and as a Local Agent for foreign companies registered in Australia. He provides general advice to these companies on corporate, business and taxation matters.
Nick Barwell
Nick is a Chartered Accountant who has worked in public practice since graduating from Macquarie University in 2002. In 2009, Nick was admitted as an Associate of the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.
Nick is responsible for a large number of family groups looking to protect their wealth and provide for their families in the most tax-effective manner. He consistently delivers a high level of client service, responds rapidly to client needs and provides proactive advice.
Nick also supports a number of Australian and international business clients dealing with monthly accounting, taxation compliance, internal reporting, payment processing and payroll. He regularly conducts McBurneys’ in-house staff training sessions and is responsible for the firm’s ongoing professional development.
Luke Alcock
Luke is a qualified Chartered Accountant and has been working in public practice since 2011. Luke graduated from The University of Technology Sydney in 2013 where he completed a Bachelor of Business with a Major in Accounting and Finance. Luke went on to graduate as a Chartered Accountant in 2015 and has also completed further studies to qualify as a Chartered Tax Advisor with the Tax Institute of Australia.
Luke provides business consulting, taxation, management accounting and corporate services to local and international businesses as well as family groups. He is particularly interested in problem solving for complex taxation matters, finding the most suitable structure to achieve client goals and maximise their business profitability and cash flow. Luke is well versed in issues encountered by multi-national businesses in Australia and is extensively experienced with the information technology industry.
